Jason Dundas, the Aussie model, TV presenter and actor has just released his first fitness line “DundasFit”. There is no denying how great Jason looks in the gear and the fact that he is Aussie is exciting in itself. The newly single model is clearly killing it, flaunting down runways, appearing in magazines and producing gear for our local stores.
Jason Dundas is a 33-year-old year old TV presenter, which is especially known for his work with “ET News” and MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” in the US and is remembered in Australia for being apart of the long running travel series “Getaway” in Australia. Jason is originally a Sydney boy and studied at The University of Western Sydney to graduate with a degree in Design.
Jason is currently an ambassador for David Jones and is well known within the ‘sports luxe’ sub culture within the fitness industry, which follows nutrition, health and fitness, and of course the fashion trends that come with exercise. To many of these self-confessed fitness fanatics, body toning and eating right isn’t just a hobby or 12 week diet, but rather a culture which they are apart of, and Jason explained in an interview late last year, “Being healthy means having an awareness of how to get the most out of your body both physically and mentally. It’s not a trend or a diet. It’s a lifestyle”. The DundasFit logo was created by Jason promoting the hash tag “DundasFit” on social media for other sports lux followers to use, discuss stories, share tips and ask general questions about the ‘lifestyle’ of becoming ‘ripped’ or healthy.
You may not have heard of the presenter, perhaps because he is busy living it up in Beverly Hills interviewing huge names like Beyoncé, Madonna and Johnny Depp (to name a few), but his new brand is set to be huge, with many media outlets hinting the success of Jason, but that it may be a more uphill battle for consumers to look as ‘defined’ in the fitness wear as the toned Aussie. Jason is clearly a versatile model and a popular figure in the US with models and celebrities warming to the Aussie, perhaps due to a mix of his accent and clear attractiveness.
Jason, last Wednesday walked for David Jones in their annual Spring/Summer Fashion Show in Sydney and the talk of the night was a mix between how great he looked stripped down to his undies and that he had recently ended his relationship with the assistant of editor-in-chief of Vogue USA, Rey-Hanna Vakili. Jason went to social media and posted a selfie alongside fellow David Jones brand ambassadors: “Australia’s Next Top Model” winner Montana Cox and “Sports Illustrated” model Jessica Gomez.
Jason may be renowned as an essential piece of ‘eye-candy’ in the Fashion World, but his new sports range could not suit the star any better. With his objective explained as, “Ultimately we want to inspire people to make being healthy become cool”, we think that Jason could achieve great social and business achievements with his DundasFit collection. His collection is set to appear in 24 David Jones stores and online this month, which should be a great success considering that within the mammoth franchise, sports wear is still a small niche.
