Tim Walker recently paid tribute to the work of medieval painter Hieronymous Bosch in the Spring 2016 issue of Love Magazine with a surrealistic fashion spread.
Hieronymous Bosch is one of the most striking painters of the Middle Ages, but the details of his life are elusive. He painted large-scale triptychs depicting fantastical landscapes and crowds of nudes. Bosch is largely credited as a medieval precursor to Surrealism, with many of his works leading the Zeitgeist of his time.

Tim Walker’s style merges well with Bosch’s. Both feature dreamy landscapes with vivid narratives that seem to give audiences a glimpse into another realm. Walker is renowned in the photography industry, with many photographers citing his work as an inspiration to them.
In the true more-the-merrier Bosch style, an array of models took part in the shoot, including Anna Cleveland, Anne Lise Maulin, Cierra Skye, Grace Bol, Guinevere Van Seenus, Melanie Gaydos, Yana Dobrolyubova, Connor Newell, Isaac Neal, Jelle Haen, Kesse Donkor, Maarten Convens and Sam Collet. Couture was chosen by Katie Grand, hairstyling was done by Malcolm Edwards and make-up was done by Sam Edwards. The teamwork resulted in a striking photo series with vibrant colours and a quirky blend of scenic and medieval elements.
Walker has worked for the British, Italian and American editions of Vogue as well as W Magazine and LOVE Magazine. He has exhibited at Somerset House and the Design Museum, London and had works screened at the Locarno Film Festival and the Chicago United Film Festival.
