Three years ago, Sarah Jessica Parker designed her first line for her own label SJP. With the brand, Parker offers the typical Sex And The City essentials, such as footwear, handbags, and candles. Since then she has been teaming up with renowned designer brands, such as Tome in 2015, as well as her latest collaboration with e-commerce haven Net-A-Porter for which she created a fancy capsule collection of party shoes earlier this month.
Now the actress is about to open the doors of her first standalone retail store in Washington DC for which she teamed up with global hospitality company MGM Resorts. The store is set to open on December 8th and will stock her SJP shoe collection, her little black dress collection, as well as handbags, jewellery, and accessories. Prices will vary from about $30 to $700. In a press release, Parker stated about the store’s interior:
“Opening a standalone store has long been a dream we have been working towards and we feel truly privileged to be doing so with the expertise, guidance and support of our brilliant partners at MGM Resorts. It’s been very exciting to have been involved in all steps of the process, from on-site construction visits to the actual layout and design of our boutique. I’m honoured to be included in this massive undertaking and I’m very much looking forward to celebrating in December. Because perhaps then I will believe it’s real.”
For the interior design of the boutique itself, no information has been released yet. Parker has only just shared a picture on Instagram with her 3 million fans showing her and business partner George Malkemus on site only a day ago. Judging by this picture there still seems to be a large amount of work to cover. More boutiques, restaurants, and a huge casino are also expected to follow.
Bill Boasberg, the hotel’s general manager stated: “When curating our retail collection, we first and foremost wanted to align ourselves with a luxury brand that represents style, elegance and, most of all, fun. We know this boutique will appeal to a wide variety of women and we’re looking forward to inviting them in to discover their new favourite shoe, handbag or little black dress.”
