HBO finally gave Game of Thrones fans a little something to be excited about with the surprise release of the new season’s poster.
With Entertainment Weekly releasing exclusive photos of the upcoming season just this week, this poster couldn’t have come at a better time. We were treated to a short trailer at the end of March, but this new teaser has us questioning what the new season will be about.
That piercing blue eye can only mean one thing; the White Walkers are here and they probably mean business. The trailer had us all thinking that there would be a battle between three of the show’s most anticipated leaders, but did we brush it off too fast?
The residents of Westeros may be in for a nasty shock if they think that familial rivalry is the only battle they’re going to be facing this coming winter. The announcement of a faster paced season has us thinking that we’re going to be seeing a lot more sword fighting than we’re used to (if that’s even possible with this show anymore).
The writers have something interesting in-store it seems and of course we’re as excited as ever for July 16.
