If you thought HBO’s short and sneaky trailer was chilling enough, wait until you see the new, full length trailer they dropped for Game of Thrones this morning.
It was only yesterday that the poster for the new season of Game of Thrones was released, but surprise! We’ve been treated to a whole lot more.
“Enemies to the east, enemies to the west. Enemies to the south, enemies to the north. Whatever stands in our way, we will defeat it.”
We’re treated to Cersei, standing over a giant map of Westeros, as she explains to her ride or die Jamie that the other houses have them surrounded. What would Game of Thrones be without the threat of attack?
Daenerys is, of course, on Drogon with Tyrion following closely behind. She’s claimed her thrown and by the looks of things, has let the Unsullied loose on the Lannister army.
Battles unfold, Petyr Baelish is still trying to give Sansa some unwarranted words of wisdom and poor Arya is still trekking her way to who knows where (maybe she’s off to Winterfell or acting out her plans of killing Cersei, like she ‘promised’ in season one).
There’s some noticeable absences from the new trailer – where are the White Walkers? Yesterday’s poster led us to thinking that the White Walkers would play a greater role in this upcoming season, and while they aren’t physically seen, we did notice Jon and Tormund running through a whole lot of snow (aka White Walker territory).
In the wise words of Jon Snow, “The great war is here…” and we can’t wait to see it unfold.
