Thank You For Your Service is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name by David Finkel, and adapted/directed by American Sniper director Jason Hall.
Teller portrays one of three American servicemen returning home from Iraq, and despite having the support of his wife, daughter and fellow comrades cannot seem to resign himself to the routine and habits of daily life. The film also stars Haley Bennett and Amy Schumer, in a dramatic turn from her usual comedic roles.
The film purports to be an exploration of the effects of PTSD on military servicemen, and the lack of federal support and compensation for these victims. With a somewhat strategic October release date, the film has already been slated as a possible awards contender.
Thank You For Your Service will be released on the 27th of October in US theatres. An Australian release date is yet to be confirmed.
