Thirteen years ago we were introduced to the Parrs: a family of undercover superheroes who helped save the world from a zealous super-wannabe. And guess what? They’re coming back…
It’s official! After years of rumours and speculation a teaser trailer has just dropped, signaling the imminence of Incredibles 2. True to form, the trailer gives nothing away in terms of plotline or characters, it merely shows baby Jack-Jack wandering towards the Incredibles insignia –showing off some laser-eye power in the process– before cutting to an ecstatic Mr. Incredible.
“You. Have. Powers! YEAH BABY!”
Following the events of the first movie we know that Jack-Jack’s powers are finally discovered by the family, which will doubtless provide some conflict and laughs through the sequel. Alongside his father’s incredible strength, his mother’s ability to stretch, his sister’s invisibility, and his brother’s super speed, Jack-Jack’s powers of transformation and firepower –which we saw at the end of the first movie – will prove to round out this incredible family.
In a further coup the original cast are back reprising their roles so we can expect to hear Craig T. Nelson’s warm gruff, Holly Hunter’s sassy drawl, and Samuel L. Jackson’s badass attitude. I can hardly wait!
