Many cities are considered fashion capitals, but only one is known as the world’s fashion capital, Paris. French Haute Couture began in the 18th century, but the French had been looked to with admiration or disdain in their dress sense well before that. Even back then, the French were famous for their liberal attitude towards sexuality. Paris has reigned as the world’s fashion capital for more than three centuries. During this time it has attracted the world’s foremost designers and seemingly imbued its citizens with an unmatched and innate sense of style.
