Backyards, barbecues, the bush and the band – quintessential Skeggs. The boys from Byron have released a new music video for their new single ‘Stop’.
Now crowned Triple J’s Album of the Week, My Own Mess (a title a lot of us could pin to our own lives) is Skeggs’ debut album that magically bridges the gap between coastal grunge and garage rock. Serving a fresh platter of 15 massive new tracks, the album features two flagship singles ‘Up in The Clouds’ and the surf-inspired tune ‘ Smogged Out’. The enviable sound of Australian punk rock provided by Toby, Ben, and Jonny is sure to be booming through car speakers, and there’s no better way to being Skeggs back to the masses than with a national tour.
It’s been a wild year for the trio, whose new music video for ‘Stop’ has a memorable cameo from a humble local. They said: “We filmed it in about 2 hours before we went to sit on the Rage couch. We found a random drunk bloke who ended up having a pretty good cameo in it.”
The ever-growing fandom for the Byron group has led to the majority of their tour already being sold out. Tickets are sparse but, fear not, are still on sale for Sydney and Melbourne. To make the show even sweeter, $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Mark Hughes Foundation for brain cancer research.
