Sophie Lowe, English-born Australian singer-song writer, releases her much anticipated single ‘Taught You How To Feel‘.
The highly emotive new track is written by Lowe and produced by Neal Sutherland, who has previously worked with Lowe on her 2016 EP, ‘EP 2′.
“At the end of 2017 I starting writing the basis of ’Taught You How To Feel’,” says Sophie, in a recent press release. “I took the song to Neal’s studio and we had a long chat, a couple of shots of Whiskey, and we started recording. All the true feelings were there that day and I wanted to keep it contained like that. We finished the song that day and I think Neal really captured the rawness of that moment.”
‘Taught You How To Feel‘ explores the idea of escaping and is based on a tumultuous relationship from the singer-song writer’s past. The song explores an individual understanding their own self worth and the actions that are needed to accept that and move forward.
‘Taught You How To Feel‘ was released with an accompanying music video, which was shot by UK director and actor Bonnie Wright.
“Finding the right environment to capture the claustrophobia of the song was vital to the video and I wanted the bus to be a character itself,” says Bonnie in a press release. “Directing Sophie is always such a joy, the intensity of emotion that pours through from the song and onto the screen is palpable.”
