Confirmed Wavy. Kanye West has confirmed the release of his much anticipated album, Jesus is King, for a September 27 release.
Kanye’s 9th Studio album has been in the works for some time now, with Kim Kardashian teasing its title and track list on Twitter a few weeks earlier.
Kanye officially confirmed the album during his appearance in Batesville, Indiana.
“Jesus Is King is out September 27th, so let’s continue this…”
Kanye can then be heard reading off the track list teased by Kim, with songs such as Baptized, God Is and Sweet Jesus.

With the title being ‘Jesus is King’, it appears that Kanye is returning to his spiritual side. This is following on from 2018’s, Ye, which focused on Kanye’s mental health. With Kanye returning to his spiritual side, we can expect more epic orchestral tracks, similar to what we heard on Life of Pablo. Kanye might also tap into his Sunday Service, using them as support in the album.
This is the first official announcement of new music by Kanye, following on from the announcement and removal of Yandi. Kanye’s supposed album Yandi was announced last September and was never released, with it seemingly being cancelled. Some leaks have shown us what the album would have sounded like, with features from 6ix9ine and XXXTentacion. With the album never being released, perhaps ‘Jesus is King’ is the spiritual successor to Yandi.
Kanye has been coy about features on the ‘Jesus is King’, with the only known name announcing their appearance on the album being Chance the Rapper. Here’s hoping we see Kanye team up with Rihanna and Pusha T again!
Jesus is King will be released on September 27.
