It’s been a big two years for Jepsen. She’s just finished off her incredible tour for her latest album “Dedicated” and celebrated its birthday on the 17th of May! It seems that “Dedicated” is the gift that keeps on giving because on its anniversary, Jepsen teased fans with the hint of a Side B when she posted this on Instagram:

The lone ‘B’ at the end of the video had fans screeching about the possibility of a Side B. Jepsen is notorious for her Side Bs because she writes so many songs for each album, leaving close to a hundred on the cutting room floor. She released a Side B for her understated gorgeous album “Emotion” that featured one of her best songs “Your Type.” Side B was just as brilliant as the album itself, leaving her fans eager for the rest of her songwriting.

She teased fans again about a possibility of “Dedicated” Side B when she posted this compilation of tweets and comments:

Sure enough, Carly Rae Jepsen released “Dedicated Side B” one day later, saving us all from a mind-numbing quarantine. Side Bs are usually expected to be a lesser version of the original album, featuring subpar songs or songs that didn’t ‘quite fit.’ Instead, this Side B is everything “Dedicated” was and more.

With a total of 13 songs and 43:27 minutes, Side B is very much a new album for us to consume. The pop-confectionery nature of her songs has beats and lyrics that will send you singing along in delight-completely forgetting that you’re even meant to be at home. Whether you’re studying for exams, working from home, babysitting the kids or making banana bread, “Dedicated Side B” is the best soundtrack for you.

Definitely check out the adrenaline pumping “Fake Mona Lisa,” “This Love Isn’t Crazy” and the stunning collaboration with Jack Antonoff’s band Bleachers “Comeback.”

All hail Queen Carly Rae, the saviour of quarantine.
