The new trailer has dropped for Edgar Wright’s upcoming Last Night In Soho starring Anya Taylor-Joy.
The upcoming film is a psychological horror, following a young woman, played by Thomasin Harcourt Mackenzie, who transports to the 1960s and meets a small-time singer, played by Taylor-Joy.
Taylor-Joy appears as a disturbing take on a 60s fashion icon, singing a haunting version of Petula Clark’s Downtown. Although all appears to be exciting and glamorous at first, the more time Eloise spends in the past, the more darkness emerges as the two timelines converge. The film also stars Matt Smith, Oliver and James Phelps, Jessie Mei Li, and the late Diana Rigg.
Last Night In Soho will be director Edgar Wright’s eighth feature film. His last film, 2017’s Baby Driver recieved acclaim and three academy award nominations.
We’re hoping Last Night In Soho will further cement Taylor-Joy as a scream queen, after her breakout performance in Robert Eggers’ The Witch. Interestingly, the star is working with the director again in his upcoming film The Northman alongside Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård and Björk.
