For as long as Area-51 has existed, so has the hype surrounding UFO sightings.
For decades, it has been largely unacceptable to hold affirmative beliefs regarding UFOs in wider society. American attitudes are changing this week, with luminaries from Barack Obama to former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal sharing insight.
Obama was questioned by the press about the issue of UFOs. This took place during an interview on Tuesday. The former president confirmed “footage and records” of these so-called unidentified objects’ existence. A much-anticipated official report is due to be released regarding mysterious aerial sightings next month. 60 Minutes has interviewed numerous reliable witnesses, including a former navy pilot. The pilot has confirmed sightings of unidentified phenomena, the government’s preferred term,
“every day for at least a couple years”.

This news has prompted Obama’s discussion of this aforementioned aerial phenomena. Obama told CBS,
“What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there’s footage and records of objects in the skies, that we don’t know exactly what they are, we can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory.”
The Days Following
LA-based filmmaker Jeremy Corbell released a clip to Twitter which claims to show a swarm of UFO activity within the vicinity of a navy ship.

Corbell explains how the event was captured in June 2019 by the combat information centre of the USS Omaha off the coast of San Diego.
Right-wing Fox News host Tucker Clarkson has seen him engage in both anti-vaccination and UFO conspiracies alike over recent times. He played a clip on Monday’s show, stating that,
“The Pentagon admits it doesn’t know what in the world this is. From a national security perspective, that is a very big problem.”
On Monday, NBA star Shaquille O’Neal shared his experience of sighting a “flying saucer” with Jimmy Kimmel.

CNN have also interviewed a former combat pilot who explained her experience in seeing a UFO off the coast of San Diego. Interest in UFO sightings will continue to increase until the official report is released in June. Interest in aerial sightings will only grow as the US moves toward releasing its official report at the beginning of June. Donald Trump’s former intelligence officer, John Ratcliffe made a stamens in June. He explained that the disclosure would reveal a “lot more” UFO sightings than those which have been made public.
