Saint Laurent unveils their Denim Collection for 2021. The campaign stars big names like Hailey Bieber and Romeo Beckham to flaunt the fashion house’s new season, reminiscent of 70s rock and roll.
Designer and creative director of Saint Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello, has revealed the new vintage-inspired Denim collection for Saint Laurent’s Autumn/Winter 2021 campaign. The faces of the new collection are Hailey Bieber, Romeo Beckham, Sonny Hall, Megan Miles and Anok Yai.
The denim line boasts nostalgia with its 70s inspired slim-fitted jeans, raw-hem shorts and torn outerwear. The campaign reworks classic Saint Laurent looks with new additions and cuts, holding itself to expectation with its all-new jean styles.
In a short video shot by Gray Sorrenti, the campaign unfolds to the oozing sentimentality of Arsun’s “Southern Winds”.
The Campaign
From underwear and accessories to distressed jeans and outerwear, the new YSL season is holistic and definitely has range. The black and white scene debuts the old-school rock and roll atmosphere of the collection. The 70s-inspired blue-trashed and stonewashed denim, vests and vintage-detailed sleeves highlights the brand’s roots.
The rock look also features raw-hemmed shorts and jeans among torn outerwear. An obvious homage to the 70s rock scene, the collection uses nostalgia to wield new finishes to reworked and classic pieces.
And the collection is not just for rock lovers. The line is elevated with elegant and collegiate looks that we’ve grown to anticipate from the iconic brand. The blazer-jacket in “Prince of Wales Tweed”, and single-breasted wool blazer promise timelessness, sophistication and modernity.
And in line with their approach towards sexual liberation, YSL41 also features sexy and chic pieces. Included are edgy monogrammed tulle jersey underwear, and rhinestoned bras with the YSL pattern.
Accessories also strengthen the collection all the way from a suede butterfly buckle belt to Saint Laurent’s Oversized Stirrup Pendant in Metal.
Timeless Androgyny
And the recently announced face of Saint Laurent’s AW21 collection, Romeo Beckham, is the star of the launch, with his own feature videos for the campaign. The shots include non-gendered and luxurious pieces and blouses that continue the Saint Laurent legacy of masculin-féminin sophistication.
The YSL41 denim campaign has delivered reinvention among the expected timelessness of Saint Laurent. It’s clear that Vaccarello is continuing to expand the values and looks of Saint Laurent, carrying with it the legendary house’s identity and worldliness.
