Melancholy pop star Lana Del Ray has recently revealed the artwork for her upcoming studio album, Blue Banisters.
The release of Blue Banisters will be Del Ray’s third album over one year, following on from her 2020 spoken word album Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass and Chemtrails Over the Country Club which dropped in March 2021.
‘Blue Banisters’ will be the follow-up to Del Rey’s March album, ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’. NME gave the offering five stars upon its release, labelling it “another stunning album, one that aches with meditations on fame and romance”.

After teasing an album release, set for 4 July named “Rock Candy Sweet”, the star appears to have renamed the release to “Blue Banisters”.
As per a post on the singer’s Instagram account, “Album out later later… Single out soonish. Have a good fourth x.”
which features a snippet of an unknown upcoming music video. In an alternate post, Del Ray shares a clip of herself, singing over piano chords. During it, she sings,
“My body is a map of LA / I stand straight like an angel / With a halo.”
Del Ray’s Rise to Fame
Lana Del Ray’s self-titled debut album was first released in January 2010. It features her viral hit, “Video Games” and marks the start of her rise to fame over following years. Soon thereafter, Del Ray signed a deal with Interscope and Polydor, spawning Summertime Sadness, a top ten single hit on Billboard’s Hottest 100.
In Collaboration
Three songs have been shared from her upcoming album in May, the title track “Blue Banisters” and “Text Book”, which are written in collaboration with Edward Simon. Kanye West gets a producer credit on “Wildflower, Wildfire”, a collaboration worth looking out for. For now, the release date sits at “TBC”.
