Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me, I ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed. Well this isn’t a joke, the Supreme x Shrek collab is real!
Following Supreme’s 2016 release of a brick, which is currently reselling for a minimum of $231, the brand has not failed to live up to their extravagance. As part of this year’s FW21, Supreme promoted the new collection by wrapping the Supreme logo around a New York Subway train. The official preview was released on the website.
The piece that caught fans’ attention, however, was a familiar font that adorned a single black tee. Supreme has previewed their collaboration with the hit film series Shrek, by adorning the signature green font with the ogre-eared S.
The original Shrek film recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, remaining a cult favourite amongst the population, a possible prompt for the collaboration. The logo will also be printed on beanies and skateboard decks. While some are absolutely loving the collaboration, some have criticised Supreme for its lack of creativity with the design. There have also been suspicions of plagiarism of Dime’s shirt, released back in 2019.
