Welcome back to FIB’s weekly drop list. Here are our favourite new releases for the first week of April!
How are we in April already? This week’s drop list includes some sizzling brand collabs, music video releases from the Weeknd and Harry Styles, and the Season 2 return of a very popular Netflix series.
LOUIS VUITTON LAUNCHES SILVER LOCKIT BRACELETS FOR UNICEF
Inspired by Virgil Abloh’s S/S 2020 runway collection, this new accessory by Louis Vuitton is released in support of disadvantaged children around the world. The Silver Lockit bracelet is the latest addition to the LVforUNICEF collection, and retails for $430 apiece, with $100 from each purchase going toward UNICEF.
The brand writes, “in continuation of the #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, Louis Vuitton is committed to raising awareness and funds to support UNICEF’s work to provide conflict- and disaster-affected children with access to water and sanitation, nutrition, education, health and protection services.”
PALACE REFURBISHES CALVIN KLEIN DENIM, UNDERWEAR AND FRAGRANCE FOR “CK1 Palace” COLLABORATION
Straight from the gritty streets of London and the bustling thoroughfares of New York. This latest collab combines Palace’s roguish streetwear with the cool minimalism of Calvin Klein pieces. The collection includes denim, tees and fleece, as well as men’s and women’s underwear, a first for Palace.
It takes its inspiration from the ‘90s, when skate culture was a dominant force in fashion and Calvin Klein’s iconic campaigns were omnipresent. The Palace x Calvin Klein collection is set to drop on April 8 via Palace’s web store. It is also available via in-store locations – London, New York and L.A., as well as via the Calvin Klein site.
Anthropologie’s Butterfly Satchel
A delightful new collection of spring totes have arrived. With the warm weather just around the corner for most of the world, this gorgeous update on the traditional wicker tote from Anthropologie will keep you beach ready and fashionable at all times. The Butterfly Tote is made from rattan, and said to “suit the needs of the contemporary woman.”
HARRY STYLES – AS IT WAS – (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
If you’ve ever dreamed of watching Harry Styles strut around a gym in a red sequinned red bodysuit, then this latest music video might just be the answer to your prayers. Back with his first new single in three years, tonally it represents a change in sound for the former boy band member and a departure from his former self.
Co-written and produced by Styles’ longtime collaborators Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson, the track is bursting with upbeat energy but features rarely seen raw expression from the former pop singer, with lyrics that read, “Answer the phone / Harry, you’re no good alone / Why are you sitting at home on the floor? / What kind of pills are you on?“

THE WEEKND – OUT OF TIME (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
In an evocative piece that features not only “Squid Games” star, Jung Ho-yeon, but comedic genius, Jim Carrey, The Weeknd’s latest video will conjure up scenes from both Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind. The lyrics are powerful and match the timeless sentiment of the music video.
“And I remember when I held you
You begged me with your drowning eyes to stay
And I regret I didn’t tell you
Now I can’t keep you from loving him, you made up your mind”

BRIDGERTON, SEASON 2
The long-awaited second season of Bridgerton is streaming on Netflix. Shonda Land’s reimagining of the traditional period drama provides a breath of fresh air. It includes a diverse cast and a soundtrack nearly as intoxicating as the series – utilising instrumental covers from famous pop songs. This season’s gems include, Rihanna’s, “Diamonds”, Robyn’s, “Dancing on My Own” and the Alanis Morisette classic, “You Oughtta Know”, in which the artist herself collaborated on the re-recording.
Packed full of the glitz, froth and non-stop drama that bequeathed the first season, the binge-worthy series does not disappoint. And this season, featuring perhaps, the first-ever Indian leading lady in a mainstream period drama, continues to smash barriers.
