Travis Scott performed his new singles “MAFIA” and “Lost Forever” from his anticipated album “UTOPIA”. The album was set for release earlier this year but has been pushed back due to the tragic Astroworld fest which took 10 lives and hundreds of injuries.
This year, Travis Scott’s appearance at Billboard’s marked his first televised award show performance following the Astroworld festival tragedy last November.
The artist sang his songs “Mafia” and “Lost Forever” with an icy landscape serving as the backdrop. He sports a fuzzy-looking outfit for his performance with his backup dancers wearing matching outfits. This event hosts, legendary rappers “Diddy Combs” and “French Montana” welcomed Scott for his performance. Diddy is believed to be responsible for this gig as he is an executive producer of this music festival.
On the red carpet, he walked in with his wife, Kylie Jenner, 24, and his 4-year-old daughter Stormi. The couple welcomed a second child – a baby boy – in February.
Executive Producer Diddy Quote “Uncancelling the cancelled” for his event. This is in relation to Travis Scott and Morgan Wallen – who was in controversy due to the Astroworld and Using N-word in a viral clip respectively.
“This Just In”
He is also the one who demanded Scott’s performance a week ago in the award show. “This just in,” Diddy says in the video. “For the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday I made a request; I made a demand. I said, ‘My brother Travis Scott has to perform. I’m executive producing, he has to perform’ and NBC said, ‘Yes.’ It’s going down Sunday, Travis Scott will be performing”… now that’s love.
In an Instagram video from Monday, Diddy, 52, says he is responsible for getting Scott the gig. Here is a clip of them bringing Travis Scott out for his performance:
He explains that he is there to forgive, unify, celebrate and have everybody freely. The show he is hosting is all about love, forgiveness, and giving second chances. Which is getting a huge amount of fan backlash. Here is the clip of Scott’s performance at the Billboard Music Awards 2022.
The rapper is all set to release his long-delayed album titled “Utopia” in the coming weeks. This will be Scott’s fourth studio album after studio albums “Rodeo” (2015), “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight” (2016) and “Astroworld” (2018). The singer also released a compilation album called Jackboys in 2019.
