From handbags to sunglasses to fancy dresses, CELINE offers nothing but chic and tasteful items. It’s signature styles reflect the house’s formal style. But with the release of surfboards earlier this month, is CELINE’S image heading for a change?
Earlier this month, French design fashion house CELINE dropped “CELINE SURF”. This collection draws from summer vibes and typical California surf style.. And the products offer something quite diverse.
A Unique Addition
Exclusive to the brand’s flagship boutiques, this line of surf-wear and accessories provides items that are ideal gifts for surfers everywhere. Or maybe just a unique addition to your existing collection. Although, who wants a designer surfboard that you can’t use? Not DJ, producer and surfer, Justin Brick Howze of Ebony Beach Club. In a campaign shoot for the house’s “E-foil” surfboard release, Howze is featured taking the “logo-emblazoned functioning surfboard” for a test-ride, as per ENFNTS Terribles.

According to HypeBeast, Howze embodies the CELINE SURF line and what it stands for – the beach lifestyle. No matter what time of the day, Howze prepares for all of his surfs with CELINE.
“To chase the best waves, Howze prefers to surf as early as 5AM. After waking up, he quickly checks his CELINE Medium Backpack Trekking to make sure all of his daily essentials are packed. The bag’s black robust nylon material provides lightweight protection against rough beach elements such as strong winds, coarse sand and cold waters. Once the surfboard is loaded into his car, Howze throws on a Loose Bowling Shirt and the retro-inspired CT-04 Lace-Up Sneakers before making his way over to Nicholas Canyon Beach in Malibu.”
The CELINE Surf Look
And it doesn’t end there. After chasing waves all morning, Howze changes into a complete CELINE SURF look. He models a look from their latest line, which includes the “Oversized Varsity Jacket” in wool. Also, an animal-printed “Hawaiian Shirt” and comfortably chic “Triomphe Flared Track Pants”.
More information about the CELINE SURF collection are available on the brand’s website or the CELINE Soho and Madison Store. Items from the collection are only available on request. If you aren’t in the know, you might miss out on getting your hands on the designer item of the season.
But don’t worry if you miss out because CELINE isn’t the first fashion house to take its brand into new waters. Designers who have also transformed their look into a more retro, casual style, releasing unique items that are appealing to a broader market are KENZO, Stella McCartney, Jacquemus, Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and CHANEL.
