The MTV VMA’S (Video Music Awards) is a yearly event full of our most beloved celebrities wearing their finest attire. The red carpet is even a fashion platform to see the different aspects of the shining singers under the stage. This week we are looking at some of the best red carpet looks from the 2022 VMAs.
This year, the MTV VMA’s are held in New Jersey on 28 August at the Prudential Center. Many famous and influential stars from around the world demonstrated their modern and unique taste in both music and fashion.
Lizzo
Lizzo, one of the event’s biggest winners, steals the show again. She wears an Avant-garde Jean Paul Gaultier wavy gown this time. The strapless design features ruffles and plenty of volumes, making Lizzo the most dazzling and imposing look on the carpet. The matching lipsticks, gloves and hair with the bright gold earrings form a consistent look with an extra highlight.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift stuns the audience with the shimmering mini dress by Oscar de la Renta. The chain-link-style design with a nude-coloured slip underneath demonstrates her strong ambition and status in the industry. Her signature red lipstick goes well with the whole silver look as well. Another thing that surprises her fans is the announcement of her upcoming tenth album.
Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X catches people’s attention with his dramatic look again this year. Iman’s 2021 Met Gala look inspires the Harris Reed headdress and skirt. The wild black feather combo match with the high-waist black pants – displaying X’s successful boundary-pushing.
Blackpink
Blackpink perfectly shows that different styles in different brands can still make a good match. Lisa is in culotte pants with a cutout by Celine and a necklace highlight. Jisoo stuns in a floral Dior gown which perfectly showcases her newfound elegance. Jennie rocks in the whole Chanel outfit, with a sexy showoff of her V-shaped waistline. And Rosé stands out most – in a mini dress by Saint Laurent featuring draping details around the waist.

Sabrina Carpenter opts for the Moschino Resort 2023 fishtail gown. The shining and colourful floral design with the black background highlights her appearance beautifully. And the daring cut-outs along her waist and chest show her bodyline perfectly.
Måneskin
The Italian band Måneskin rock their style with their partner Gucci. The sparkling sequins and luxe fabric design directly present the glam and rock and roll fashion. They find a way to show their body and identities in a matching fashion.
Becky G
Becky G wows the stage with the Zuhair Murad Dress. The shining window print is inspired by Tarot Card. We can also see risqué cut-outs from the side that show her skin from her hip to the bottom. The look presents an edgy and esotericist vibe with extra sexiness.
Dove Cameron
Dove Cameron wears a floral and leather corset-style Paco Rabanne dress. The design of the leather and bondage with the elegant flower design demonstrates a unique punk rock style. Her braid hairstyle and siren eyes makeup along with the belt necklace make the whole look consistent and stunning.
Avril Lavigne
Avril Lavigne is back with her classic casual style. She is in a whole black Versace outfit, a long-sleeved fitted top with corset detail and slutchy trousers with a silver chain. The bright blonde hair with orange highlights becomes a real highlight of the outfit.
