BALENCIAGA LAUNCHES “OFFSHORE” CAPSULE COLLECTION

Balenciaga is back at it again. After recently launching its Spring 2024 collection, “Capital B,” the Spanish luxury house has dropped an exclusive capsule collection, “Offshore”. As the brand continues to seek redemption in the wake of last year’s controversy, their latest offering is rather straightforward; with signature graphics prominently featured on sweatshirts, T-shirts, and sweatpants.

Balenciaga was in receipt of a global backlash earlier this year after featuring an ad campaign involving children wearing bondage-style clothing.

The Kering-owned fashion house took to Instagram to apologise, stating:

“We strongly condemn child abuse; it was never our intent to include it in the narrative,” the luxury couture company wrote.

“Our plush bear bags and the gift should have not been featured with children.”

Now, Balenciaga is slowly making its comeback – with the help of a brand-new capsule collection.

The “Offshore T-shirt” stands out in the group with an oversized fit and offshore, graffiti-inspired branding on the front, back, and sleeves. For those who want to look like they’ve been wearing the same shirt for weeks, there’s a long-sleeved version with the same faded design, with both crewneck silhouettes made of vintage jerseys of black and pink hues.

If you’re looking to show off your midriff, the zip-up hoodie fits just right – not too loose, not too tight, and hits just above the waist. Available in the same colourways.

To finish it off, we have the ultimate in lazy fashion: baggy sweatpants with an elastic waistband. Demna strikes again in this updated game of playing it safe – it’s the place where leisure comfortably meets artistry.

Get ready to break the bank, though. The T-shirts start at $825 USD. Balenciaga’s special “Offshore” collection is available now on the webstore and select retail outlets.
