The cult-fave line, which had then partnered with LMVH, quietly went on a pause in 2021.
As per Business of Fashion, Marc Jacobs Beauty is “strategizing the best way to meet their global customer going forward”. After almost two years, Marc Jacobs announces in a joint press release, a new partnership with Coty; a brand they have a wealth of collaborative experience with via Marc Jacobs fragrances.
Online retailer Net-a-Porter put up an empty landing page online for the brand. However, after a quick removal of the page is sparking rumours of a brand relaunch.
“Bringing Marc’s creative vision to life, in its entirety, is our constant goal, and beauty plays a crucial role in delivering that to our consumers. The loyal fans of Marc Jacobs Beauty, who have been enthusiastic in their wishes for its return, speak not only to Marc’s unwavering cultural relevance but also to the importance of aligning with a partner that shares our values and commitment. It is without question that Coty has proven to be the team to bring Marc Jacobs Beauty to new heights”,
says Marc Jacobs International CEO Eric Marechalle.
“The revival of Marc Jacobs’ cosmetic portfolio, now in partnership with Coty, is eagerly anticipated by consumers around the world who have been campaigning for its return” says Coty CEO Sue Nabi.
This agreement reinforces Coty’s position as a go-to partner for global fashion houses. The licensing agreement extends for over 15 years. Business of Fashion reports that new products are likely to hit shelves in 2025. We’ll just have to wait and see what else this new collaboration has in store.
