My favourite luxury hotels to stay in, a few of my favourite trattoria’s and places to eat, and a couple of standout budget Hotels that are also fabulous value, and some of the hidden attractions that are not on the regular Tourist maps. I have been visiting Rome for the last 3 decades, and it never gets old. Pardon my pun.

The entire centre is like a giant outdoor museum / gallery. Rome was really the world’s first cradle of civilisation, well maybe the second taking out Athens Greece. Still so rich and relevant today as it was 3,000 years ago. Rome may be an ancient city, but its hotel scene is as up-to-date as befits the capital of Italy.

The city’s options span an eclectic mix of design, glamour, and all-out Italian inspiration: Rome has great options whether it’s a high-minded hostel that’s halfway to being a hotel, the opportunity to bed down in a former monastery, a couple of private penthouse residences with discreet, as-you-please service, and plenty of blow-out luxury abodes, from art-filled villas to sleek new brand-names. 80 DAYS

In “80 DAYS”, starting from his home base of Sydney adventurer and Award winning film maker Paul G Roberts, retraces the global footsteps of Phileas Fogg, hero of Jules Verne’s most famous work, “Around the World in 80 Days”, and this time around Roberts does a deep dive on history, art and culture of the cities he visits, and he captures and records his global adventures for a new 80 Episode TV series.

Making an Award winning film is no small feat. Usually it takes a great story, a team of highly skilled artisans. Writers, producers, a great director, editors, actors and usually a pile of money. And even then it takes a decent amount of luck and a lot of dedication for it to realise the promise it had on paper. There are a million things that can derail the project. The degree of difficulty is amplified many times over when it has ambitions to become a series.

But for one person to attempt to all of this solo, is for most experts just insanity. In this new 80 episode solo Round the World Series, Award winning filmmaker and travel lover Paul G Roberts is the writer, director, producer, star, presenter, camera / sound / lighting / drone cam operator.
