The collaboration between Louis Vuitton and isn’t just about fashion and art joining forces. It started in 2020. Now, it has evolved into “Creating Infinity.” This goes beyond mere art; it’s a creative journey.
The Backstory
In 2012, Yayoi Kusama, the famous Japanese artist, joined forces with Louis Vuitton, a famous French fashion brand. They wanted to do something different. It all started with Kusama’s dream of infinity at the young age of 10.

The Artistic Expression
Kusama’s obsession with infinity comes to life through her signature polka dots—colorful and repetitive. These dots have now taken over Louis Vuitton’s world, blending seamlessly with the brand’s famous monogram. Bags, jackets, pants, glasses, and accessories, all decorated with Kusama’s Infinity Dots, have transformed into collectible art pieces. These items hold a universal appeal, resonating with people worldwide.
Eternal Pursuit
Titled “Creating Infinity,” this LV x Yayoi Kusama campaign signifies a relentless pursuit. It seeks things that endure, persist, and never cease. It’s a global project that spans Louis Vuitton’s best boutiques and prominent billboards.

Art in the Streets
Kusama’s art appeared in various places. A robot mimicked her by painting polka dots in a New York store window. In Tokyo, there were tall 3-D images of her work. Paris’s Champs-Élysées building had a huge installation of her art.

Milan’s Part in the Story
Even Milan played a role in this grand project. Louis Vuitton reopened Garage Traversi. It had been closed for twenty years. Simultaneously, during the renovation of the historic Palazzo Taverna building, they accomplished this. “Creating Infinity” is on the second floor of the building. Kusama’s black dots cover everything there. Shiny metal balls bounce light and shapes all around.
The LV x Yayoi Kusama collection has an eye-catching campaign. Steven Meisel took the photos, and Ferdinando Verderi led the creative direction. It features a star-studded lineup of models, including Bella Hadid, Gisele Bundchen, Christy Turlington, Liya Kebede, and many others.
In “Creating Infinity,” Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama merge their worlds into a mesmerizing blend of art and fashion. It’s a celebration of Kusama’s lifelong pursuit of infinity, brought to life through vibrant colors, playful dreams, and creative collaborations.
