Always wanted to wear crocs but they didn’t match your feminine aesthetics? Well, Simone Rocha’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection comes to your rescue!
As a slight diversion from the usual balletcore, Simone Rocha’s Crocs collection feature floral themes, dried flowers, silky ribbons, buttery tulle, crystals, and pearls on the runway during London Fashion Week.
The Big Collab
The Irish designer showcased a Crocs collaboration that’s an amalgamation of femininity and functionality. The event was held in the English National Ballet’s practise space. It echoed Rocha’s core concept of practising for a moment of celebration, love, and graceful movements. It resembled a whimsical reverie that exists between Swan Lake and Alice in Wonderland.
In a complimentary contrast, 3 Crocs styles have been reinvented and given the Rocha treatment, including pearls, crystals, and jet beading. A mixture of large and little pearls, as well as Rocha’s distinctive floral crystals, were added to the brand’s foam Classic Clogs. They were available in black, white, and a transparent version for a Cinderella-like bridal moment.
What’s in it?
One of Crocs’ newest shoes, the heeled platform clog, was also covered in shimmering accents. Introduced in its summer ’23 collections, the comfort shoe brand’s white pair received a Rocha twist with winding rows of pearls that burst into crystal flowers, creating an offbeat bridal moment on the runway.
Rocha displayed Crocs’ massive platform-soled clog in the same treatment for clients looking for an edgier look. However, this version was embellished with black crystal flowers enclosing glossy matching beads, for a dark yet glamorous look.
Something for Everyone
Rocha also gave the unisex selection of Crocs clogs a different look. This iteration of the shoe, which came in monochrome black and ballet slipper-pink colour ways, had a similar rounded shape to the Classic style and a hiking-to-wading shoe feel. As for its lining, the upper textile is similar to Crocs’ own Stomp and Echo boots. The entire collection includes flower clusters wallpaper-worthy, set in crystals and pearls. Rocha also highlighted this in the men’s fashion with adorable socks that matched and had pearl blossoms on them.
The runway moment marked Crocs’ latest high-fashion collaboration this year. The brand has thrived in the era of co-branded drops with its collaborations with with Balenciaga and Kurt Geiger. Along with a buzzy campaign starring Lindsay Lohan, the company also released pouch-topped platform clogs with MCM this summer.
Simone Rocha is a pioneer in the put-a-bow-on-it era. She has once again proven that you can serve this style with gracefulness that transcends gender. It’s still unclear where the Crocs are going to be available. While we wait for the release, we can say one thing for sure. These pieces can easily incorporate into anyone’s wardrobe.
