Prada has pulled out the big guns for its new advertising campaign for its Spring/Summer 2015 Men’s collection, and has recruited the stunning aesthetics of Hollywood heartthrobs, Ethan Hawke, Ansel Elgort, Jack O’Connell and Miles Teller.
The leading men have been photographed by Craig McDean in the midst of seemingly simplistic tasks, although they all look absolutely stunning nonetheless.
The campaign was shot in both London and New York, but the most prominent elements of the shoot is that of the psychological nature – with the models appearing thoughtful as they handle different objects, with close-ups on their hands and faces to “conjure a sense of the unknown”.
“Objects — knife, orange, dice, prism, compass, pen, lens, pendulum — are picked up, moved, balanced. Pensively scrutinized. Familiar things become less than familiar the more they’re looked at. As if the magical forces that make the world seem so normal have, for an indeterminately short time, revealed their strangeness,” the luxury Italian brand stated on their Facebook page in regards to the campaign.
The campaign switches between black and white and then coloured images, and shows the actors in 1970’s inspired lapels and collars.
With the exception of Ethan Hawke, who, of course, is a highly established name in Hollywood, the stars are all gaining fast momentum as they continue to show up on our big screens. Ansel Elgort starred in The Fault in Our Stars, and was also in Divergent with fellow Prada muse Miles Teller. British actor Jack O’Connell is fast becoming a silver screen regular after starring in Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken.
