Los Angeles rockers release melodious and unexpectedly good single.
‘Dark Necessities’ from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers features the typical funk and punk influences, minus the angst, in a catchy 5-minute song with an infectious chorus.
Its been five years since the band’s last album, I’m With You, and the quartet are ready to release new album The Getaway in the following months. The new album also marks the band’s departure from long-time producer, Rick Rubin. Instead, Brian Burton, professionally as Danger Mouse, has been hired. Burton has worked with names like CeeLo Green, Beck, The Black Keys and Gorillaz.
Bassist Flea has stated that Burton, as the new producer, “…is really challenging us to find new ways to come up with new music.”

Of the new method, Kiedis was happy that new material had to be written. “We wrote all new songs, and it’s a good thing we did.”
The album will also be followed up with a massive tour, where the band will be playing in North America, Canada, Europe and Asia.
As for more recent news, Red HotChilli Peppers also played at a Bernie Sanders benefit in Los Angeles, back in February.
“This cat Bernie Sanders stood out as being honest and likable, and actually human, a human being who cared about other human beings,” stated by Kiedis.
