AC/DC is an electrical term, meaning Alternating Current and Direct Current, it is also the name of the most loved Australian rock band of all time. Founded in 1973 by the brothers Malcolm and Angus Young … their vocalist and co- lyricist Bon Scott was present throughout their formative years as well. Sadly dying, after a night of heavy alcohol intake.
The band’s album “For Those About to Rock We Salute You” reached number one in the United States. Teenage boys listened to them in bedrooms and shopping malls all over the world … giving the band a kind of “Spinal Tap” persona. Alienated teen sociopaths around the globe were drawn to their music, their albums like a hard rock “Catcher in the Rye”.
After Bon Scott’s death with it’s new vocalist Brian Johnson, AC/DC continued undeterred, going from strength to strength, at last selling over 200 million albums worldwide. Making them the most successful Australian act of all time.
