Not a newbie to her beloved Coco Chanel, model and now actress Cara Delevingne has always brought an essence of ‘cool’ to the luxury brand’s advertisements. Her latest video campaign is no exception.
Totally different from her previous work, Chanel has modelled Cara in a unique way. The entire commercial, including Delevingne herself is animated to resemble a watercolour painting. And we love it!
Dressed up in a beanie, hoodie, black sneakers and accompanied by her trusty skate board, Cara stars as the animated heroine. Her quest, to search and obtain Chanel’s newest designer bag, ‘Gabrielle’. The advert features Cara riding her skateboard through a whimsical brush-stroked city where Chanel bags magically grow on trees. In later animated shots, Cara grabs a Gabrielle bag from a tree branch, slings it on her shoulder and rides off into the painted world. If only obtaining designer handbags was that easy! We applaud Japanese director and animator Shi-Shi Yamazaki for recreating Cara Delevingne’s effortlessly ‘chic’ and ‘urban pop spirit’.
