From his humble beginnings as a teenager with a Kodak, Patrick Demarchelier explored his passion for photography by learning how to develop film, retouch negatives, and shoot events at an early age. He then launched himself into the world of fashion photography by working as a freelance photographer in New York, learning from other talents in the field such as Henri Cartier Bresson, Terry King, and Jacque Guilbert. His skills drew the attention of Elle, Marie Claire, and 20 Ans Magazine, eventually leading him to work for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar for a 12-year collaboration.
