Fashion Industry Broadcast and Style Planet TV is proud to announce our latest 11-part, hour long feature docuseries. Over the next six weeks we will be unveiling a tease on each episode. In this Netflix Original Series, presented by male supermodel David Gandy, we explore the emergence of a new kind of God, with the rise of the male Supermodel.
What’s the recipe for a male Supermodel? A dash of charm, five per cent body fat and shredded muscles, a boatload of raw sex appeal, and a decent sprinkle of really good luck.
The ensemble cast of Blue Steel have that something special that has allowed them to stand toe to toe in an industry dominated by the Glamazons of the opposite sex. They are trailblazers and trendsetters. They have both set and broken records for their sex in the business. Most of whom fell into the industry by accident, they’ve left some deep imprints along the way, altering the perception of male beauty standards.
The men depicted within this series have more than their faces on billboards, and
names sewn into the fabric of brands. They have built legends and left legacies, and it’s precisely why they deserve to be called “Supermodels” just like their famous female counterparts.

Tony Ward
Anthony Borden, better known to the world as Tony Ward can be credited as one of the longest working male models today. In an industry where people often have the shelf life of a dairy product, Tony Ward has successfully kept his seat in the front for almost four long decades.
Born in Santa Cruz, California Ward grew up with big dreams, and moved to Los Angeles after high school with an aim to become and actor model or dancer.
He was first noticed by a scout while attending West Valley College at the age of eighteen, after when his career took flight.
He gained his first taste of success under the direction of photographer Herb Ritts for a campaign for Calvin Klein. His work since has spanned through the biggest names in the industry like Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Dewars Scotch Whisky, H.I.S. Jeans, Nordstrom, Chanel Platinum Egoiste, Fendi, Volvo, Diesel, H & M and Hugo Boss.
Some of his co-workers through the years have included names like Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Natasha Poly, Edita Vilkevicuite, Alessandra Ambrosio, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, and Madonna.
As a kid Tony hated being photographed, a statement backed by the fact that he now has very few pictures from his childhood. He has often been heard describing his face as “one of the ugliest things in the world”.
At a time when the industry he called home was running more towards male models competing with females for the title of ‘pretty’ Ward stood miles apart with his chiseled features and his iconic Roman nose. Ward maintains the best advice he has received to date was to not get a nose job.
Today his face can be seen on numerous magazine covers ranging from Russh Magazine, Schon, 10 Men, Faces, IO Donna, Slurp to Tetu and Homme Style.
Ward’s private life made for some interesting fodder for starving admirers. His most controversial of which was his relationship with Madonna early in the 90s. Ward is visible in a lot of her videos namely Cherish, Justify My Love and Erotica apart from which he has appeared in seventeen other videos. He is one of the names published in her well known 1992 SEX book.
Ward is a versatile actor, apart from appearing seventeen other videos, he has also left a print in the world of films. He stepped into the field through a lead role in Hustler White he also appeared as the main cast in Story of Jen and can be seen in Out in Fifty and Out Getting Ribs. If you watch 2010 zombie thriller, L.A. Zombie you could glimpse him playing the role of a homeless junkie.
Tony Ward is known for his controversial words and deeds. He has appeared in a number of shoots featuring bold displays of nudity. The man has never shied away from, well, being frank, when asked in an interview with Inoubliable Model Army about the most valuable life lessons that had gained as a result of his illustrious career he offered an interesting few pearls of wisdom…
“Don’t ever think you’re too cool to use the right skin products and never give up… oh and get paid!”
Ward seems to be very far away from slowing down. After recently releasing what he considers the highlight of his career so far, his photographic autobiography, Ward has revived his own fashion brand ‘Six in the Face.’ He has presented an exhibition of artwork alongside fellow artist Daniel Rivas. The man who already donned various hats has now taken on Guitar lessons which means we may soon see him gracing the music world.
