Blumarine’s Pre-Fall 2022 Collection is a bit of Jessica Rabbit x Elle Woods.
Blumarine has just released its Pre-Fall 2022 season collection, and our ambitions are bubbling to overhaul our closet to the sweet sound of Britney Spears “Crazy”.
After catapulting Blumarine from obscurity to the starry firmament of hot brands in only a few seasons, creative director Nicola Brognano is finally capturing our imaginations. He tells Vogue,
“I hate when designers keep repeating themselves”
He adds, “It doesn’t excite me in the least. So, I don’t even think about resting, even if I must say that at Blumarine we’ve been the first to fuel the craze for the 2000s and put them back on the map.”
The latest assortment of red hot pants, ruffle necklines, low-rise looks, metallic golds, and tulle tops certainly fits the brand aesthetic. The brand is most widely known for their Y2K aesthetic, a colourful celebration of cyberspace. It follows their recent collaboration with Hello Kitty, which is an equally head-whipping throwback to the sugary 90’s era.
Pre-Fall 2022
The Pre-Fall 2022 collection is part Jessica Rabbit meets Elle Woods, featuring knee-high latex boots, oversized faux-fur coats, some lined with leopard print, red rose chokers, and plenty ruffled necklines. Knitted cardigans and dresses also made an appearance alongside pops of denim. To complete and contrast the collection are statement metallic gold boots and pants.
Blumarine is the core brand within the Italian house Blufin S.p.A, founded in 1977 by Anna Molinari and Gianpaolo Tarabini. Today, the label is led by Nicola Brognano, who is helping to radically bring back early 2000’s fashion and transforming the Blumarine girl in the process.
Per Vogue,
“From one who “sit[s] in her bedroom combing her hair in front of the mirror listening to Shakira or Beyoncé” into one who “wants to get out of the house.”
Now that we can relate.
