Louis Vuitton Fashion Photography Book Launch & Exhibition Opening

This is one history test you won’t mind studying for!

Louis Vuitton’s powerful partnership with fashion and photography continue to propel the French luxury house into the realm of visual culture with the launch of their new Fashion Photography Book. This album brings together nearly 200 images by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Henry Clarke, Patrick Demarchelier, Annie Leibovitz, Peter Lindbergh, Craig McDean, Steven Meisel, Helmut Newton, Juergen Teller, Mario Testino plus Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and others.

Louis Vuitton’s Fashion Photography Book was launched on Wednesday, 29 October at The Crystal Pavilion North, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

The unveiling of the book was followed by an exhibition that details the creation process of making of the book.  The Fashion Photography book and the digital interactive exhibition were created to showcase the dialogue between the photographs and outstanding pieces from the Louis Vuitton heritage collection. Guests also got the chance to preview the latest collections of Nicolas Ghesquiere, fashion designer and the current creative director of the house of Louis Vuitton.

Speaking about the exhibition, Michel Mallard, art director, author and photographer curator, said: “Echoing the launch of the book, this exhibition is a dialogue between some of the most emblematic Louis Vuitton artifacts and the disruptive vision and interpretation of some of the most established names of fashion photography. Offering a new insight on the House’s legacy, this is an immersive experience, visitors being invited to interact with the content with a touch screen and wall projections making each visit a personal journey.”

Divided into three main sections, the book brings together nearly 200 images taken by leading photographers. More than 150 guests attended the book launch from different distinctions from Singapore’s art, fashion and photography world. Some of the special guests invited to the event included celebrities like Hanli Hoefer, Utt, Henry Golding, Liv Vo, and Fiona Fussi.
