Karl Lagerfeld is Now Hitting the Kidswear Market

With his trademark monochrome, sunglasses and all round Lagerfeld-esque look, Karl Lagerfeld is perhaps one of today’s most recognizable designers. And of course, top that with his sparkling success with luxury labels like Chanel, Fendi and of course his own eponymous label and Mr Lagerfeld is pretty much a complete, unbeatable force of fashion nature. But all this is still not enough for the 81 year old, who is now launching a new fashion line – for kids!

Lagerfeld will debut his kidswear collection in Spring next year under his eponymous label, and will feature clothing and accessories for newborns all the way up to girls and boys in their sweet sixteen’s.

Lagerfeld’s eponymous label has released a press release on the news stating, “The announcement reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment to newness and will allow Karl Lagerfeld to share its ironic, playful, creative vision to a young audience.”

He will be teaming up with Groupe CWF for his playfully spirited bi-annual collection. The company also produces the kidswear lines for Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Chloé and DKNY.

“The Karl Lagerfeld Kidswear collection presents a unique opportunity to share our cool, ironic, iconic DNA with a wider Karl Lagerfeld audience,” said the label’s CEO and president, Pier Paolo Righi. “Due to our brand’s wide appeal our expansion into the juniors market is a natural fit to further enhance our reach.”
