The images depict models Julia Nobis, Liya Kebede and Maartje Verhoef roaming the stunning and tranquil shores of the Caribbean. The girls are on a mission to find adventure, encompassed by their Louis Vuitton luggage – a paradox of luxury and free-spirited whim.
Demarchelier is well-known for his striking black and white portraits of top models and celebrities, and so the campaigns that he does for Louis Vuitton are usually uncharacteristic. Despite this, they have become a trademark in themselves by presenting remarkable, large open spaces and dynamic models.
His spontaneous working style is reflected in the impulsive sentiment of the campaign’s images. Demarchelier responds to his subjects and works very quickly to capture his impressive and emotive photos.
