Hollywood hardman Jason Statham has spent over a decade cultivating a reputation as one of the world’s meanest action stars. And within the space of a four-minute video, he may have just shattered that well-cultivated mystique.
A clip of Statham going shirtless and gyrating like a leopard-printed gigolo has emerged from the bowels of the Internet… and frankly, we’re delighted it did.
This horrifically shot, psychedelic wonder is a music video from Scottish electro band The Shamen and their 1993 single “Comin’ On.”
Because naturally, when we at FIB think of electronica we think of the rolling green grasslands that blessed the world with bagpipes and haggis.
The video clip is one of Statham’s first ventures into the world of acting, and honestly, we’re not surprised. Perhaps this was the gig that helped land the British beefcake his breakthrough role in the Guy Ritchie classic Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels… then again, perhaps not.
Two things emerge from this kaleidoscopic slice of ‘90s nostalgia: one, there is such a thing as too much Jason Statham… or at the very least, too many.
And two, the 47-year-old has been ridiculously ripped for over two decades! Seriously. It’s enough to put any man to shame. Statham can currently be seen in the high-octane Furious 7, cracking skulls and taking names as a lethal mercenary. He’s also due to feature in the upcoming comedy Spy, cracking skulls and taking names as a lethal, well, spy.
