Having been compared to Cellini and Fabergé, David Webb was a truly amazing jewellery designer and it seems that his own personal work has re-emerged and will be showcased once again, with work he created prior to his death.
David Webb has just announced that they will be increasing their advertising for fall 2016 with a collection campaign featuring bold, strong pieces, and women.
Accomplished Dutch fashion photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin have captured the powerful print and web campaign. The focus of the campaign is on feminine power and strength. To convey this they have selected 4 strong personalities; Gemma Ward, Tali Lennox, Cora Emmanuel and Alisa Ahmann. The designs were actually created by Webb himself before his death in 1975. The aim of the campaign is to modernise the brand and allow it to continue into the future.
“David believed women should be assertive in their style. The photographs by Inez and Vinoodh and the wonderful personalities of our models are in line with that mentality, but in a way that is relevant to today’s modern woman.” – Mark Emanuel
In an interview with WWD, Mark Emanuel (co-owner of David Webb) explained, “We’re thrilled to debut our latest campaign, shot by the brilliant Inez and Vinoodh. They’ve beautifully articulated what we believe in — women with strong and empowered personalities alongside jewellery that is both meticulously crafted and designed with a bold sensibility in mind.”
The campaign is set to run in September in print, on the web and across the David Webb digital channels. What do you think of the work? Will you be following the campaign?
