PS by Paul Smith was launched earlier this year and represents Paul Smith’s younger, contemporary line inspired by a sporty, more causal look. The SS17 collection was influenced by England’s past subcultures, such as the punks, mods or skinheads with delicate floral prints, casual denim, patches and technical fabrics. With a mix of playful colours and minimal elements, the pieces reflect a youthful twist, revealing the collection’s motto “wanderlust and exploration”.
The new line demonstrates that ethos and aesthetic and sticks to “the same core values of confident colour, unique print and sharp tailoring” that Paul Smith stands for. The line’s second collection features menswear and womenswear, mixing outerwear with urban, casual pieces as well as embellishments and a sense of versatility.
The brand’s new logo represents a shiny PS emblem, inspired by Britain’s post-punk iconography. Although this is only the brand’s second collection, PS has already announced the openings of a couple of new flagship stores in London, Hong Kong, Osaka and Paris, with more set to follow!
