Bob Marley, world ambassador for reggae music and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, was an advocator for social change while simultaneously allowing his listeners to forget their troubles and just dance.
Marley received the Order of Merit from the Jamaican government shortly before his death. He was also presented with a Medal of Peace from the United Nations in 1980. Marley was adored by the people of Jamaica and is still looked up to as a hero by today’s generation.
His legacy lives on through the 1Love Foundation which was started by Marley’s family to honour his vision for a better tomorrow.
