A favourite to Vogue and glorified in the world of fashion, Pirelli has announced British photographer, Tim Walker will be shooting its 2018 calendar.
Born in 1970, Walker began his career in Condè Nast where he collaborated on the creation of the Cecil Beaton Photographic archives. There, he discovered his love for photography and staged his first major exhibition in the Design Museum London 2008. Since then, he has established himself as one of the top and most original fashion photographers. Praised whimsical and imaginative shoots and photography style, fashion bloggers describe Walker as a ‘fantasist’ and a ‘daydreamer’.
His pictures are mirages, telling stories conjured directly from an imagination that most of us left behind in childhood. Tim creates photographs that evoke wonder” – Charlotte Sinclair on Tim Walker
So far, Pirelli has revealed that Tim Walker will be shooting next year’s calendar in unspecified locations around London. The cast and content still remain a mystery. However, we are certain his take on the calendar will just be as magical and fantasy-like as his fashion shoots and portraiture work.
If Peter Lindbergh’s take on the 2017 Pirelli calendar was a success, we’re positive 2018 will be just as amazing.
