Netflix has announced that everyone’s favourite ‘Indiana Mole Woman’ has been renewed for a fourth season, placing Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on the shelf with only nine other Netflix originals ever renewed for a fourth season.
The critically acclaimed comedy stars Ellie Kemper as the adorably juvenile, Keds-wearing protagonist trying to reclaim her life in New York City, having just been released from a fifteen-year stint in an underground apocalypse bunker. Her infectious personality helps her hastily land a job with the entitled Jacqueline Voorhees (Jane Krakowski), and befriend an aspiring singer/roommate Titus Andromedon (Titus Burgess) with the help of dodgy landlord Lillian Kaushtupper (Carol Kane).
Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s comedy series has already received eleven Emmy nominations over its term, including two nominations in the category of Outstanding Comedy Series for its first two seasons. With recurring guest stars like Jon Hamm, Amy Sedaris, David Cross and Tina Fey herself, Kimmy‘s continued success comes as no surprise.
All thirteen episodes of Season Three were debuted on 19th May in true Netflix binge-enabling fashion, and while the Season Four premiere date is yet to be confirmed, we will happily continue quelling our thirst with Titus’ Lemonade.
The first three seasons of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are available on Netflix.
