Punch it, The Latest ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Trailer Has Arrived!

Stop what you’re doing! Another (thankfully, more detailed) trailer for the next instalment in the Star Wars universe, Solo: A Star Wars Story has FINALLY arrived.

Despite being railroaded by a myriad of production issues, the incredibly highly-anticipated film now appears to be on track for its May 25th release. I mean, it is now April and we’re only just getting a decent peek at the flick… but, if the trailer is anything to go by – it was well worth the wait!

If I may, I feel obliged to divulge a few rough, personal notes before we dive into the trailer:

  • Right off the bat, the cinematography and SFX look superb. I’m no expert – and it’s not like we were privy to the content produced by former directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller – but Ron Howard’s finished product looks like it’ll be a blast on the big screen.
  • It is incredibly confusing (and Game of Thrones-withdrawal-inducing) seeing Emilia Clarke without her luscious Daenerys braids.
  • It’s going to be difficult not to compare Alden Ehrenreich with a young Harrison Ford – completely unfair, I know. But if those pesky rumours of an acting coach being hired mid-production are substantiated, then it’s entirely possible we could be faced with a flop of Jar-gantic proportions.
  • I’m calling it now: Donald Glover is going to Lando Calrissian the entire franchise – dude’s got talent up the wazoo. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he’s called in to write/direct/star in the next instalment.
  • Chewbacca doesn’t look a day over 21, hard to believe he’s 190 years old! (What does that make him now?!)
  • Disney really screwed the Wookie not fast-tracking this film for a May 4th release, just sayin’.

Needless to say, as hard as I am trying to dampen my expectations, I am absolutely raring for May 25th. Judging by the mixed bag reception of The Last Jedi, it will certainly be interesting to see how this spin-off will be received by diehard fans of the original franchise.

Right, let’s hit hyperspace on this bad boy then, shall we?

Let us know what you think of the trailer!
