US Comedians Georgia Hardstark and Karen Kilgariff bless us each week with the gloriously hilarious podcast, My Favorite Murder.
It’s like sitting down with a couple of your besties to talk about the one thing a lot of people seem to secretly love – murder… Kilgariff and Hardstark started the My Favorite Murder podcast after they discovered they both have an uncanny fascination with all things true crime. They have since gained a following of hundreds of thousands “Murderinos”.
The hilariously relatable podcast has been a massive hit, breaking download records and being a frequent presence in the top 10 iTunes comedy podcast charts, since its inception in 2016. The improvisational, conversational nature of the podcast helps with the fact that you’re listening to recounts of horrific tragedies and even makes it enjoyable.
Each episode averages 1.5 hours and predominately follows the same structure; they chat for half an hour about anything and everything, and then each take turns recounting their ‘favourite’ murder for the week for the remaining hour. Even though the episodes are quite long, it gives you the opportunity to listen to each recount over one or two sessions, giving you plenty of time to take in the crazy story they’ve just told. If you’re not sure you want to commit to an episode that long, Kilgariff and Hardstark release ‘minisodes’ that average half an hour in length, where they recount listener’s hometown murders.
As of today, there’s 143 full-episodes and 93 minisodes so get listening if you haven’t already. You have some catching up to do!
Stay sexy, and don’t get murdered!
