Just days before he is set to perform in Australia, the multi-faceted hip-hop artist, Trippie Redd has linked up with DaBaby for his latest single, ‘Death’.
Coming off his 2019 release, ‘!’, Trippie Redd is beginning the roll-out for his next project, ‘A Love Letter To You 4‘. While he took a more vocalist approach to ‘Love Me More’, his new single reverts back to his original, dark approach.
Receiving praise from The Source and XXL, the 20-year-old artist has been labelled as the hip-hop’s next rockstar. And with his latest release, he’s clearly ready to leave a mark on his Australian tour debut.
Trippie Redd is no foreigner to us either with Australia contributing over 80M streams to the rising star. His last 3 projects have also all debuted in the Billboard top 5 and he has been reaching out into other genres.
“You gon’ die” – From the rip, the Ohio native lets listeners know what to expect. Definitely no sunshine and rainbows for the next three minutes. From here, listeners flow into the chorus that highlights his seamless ability to harmonise behind seemingly aggressive lyrics.
“Trippie Redd has shown fans he can do it all. From singing over hard-hitting rock sounds to making laid-back melodic raps and spitting ferocious bars, the rhymer proves he’s got the right formula to be hip-hop’s next big superstar,” said XXL.
Layering his vocals in sync with the Three 6 Mafia sample, his unorthodox flow and lyrics are a perfect recipe for an ignorant night out.
And just as you think the track may have drained you of your energy, DaBaby cuts on and re-energises the listeners. There’s only so many artists that can flow effortlessly on this up-tempo record and of course, DaBaby delivers.
Not that this should come to listeners as a surprise though as we saw DaBaby’s versatility throughout 2019, dropping two albums ‘Baby on Baby’ and ‘Kirk‘.
Marking their first collaboration, Trippie and DaBaby were clearly on the same wavelength as they both let listeners know they’re not be taken lightly. With his signature flow, DaBaby is the perfect addition to Trippie’s roll-out.
‘A Love Letter To You 4‘ is set to be released November 22.
