Splendour in the Grass Rescheduled till 2021

The famous music festival Splendour in the Grass has been pushed back till 2021. Organisers concede that the festival won’t take place this October because of COVID-19.

The 20th Anniversary of the festival is set to show on July 2021, pushed back by a year. The organisers stated they were examining their options.

“We have been monitoring the situation closely for the past few months,” they said.

Next year’s Splendour is set to be in July 23-25, at North Byron Parklands.

“We intend to rebook as many of the 2020 artists as possible and we have started to work through that process.”

The 2020 edition was meant to feature headliners such as Flume, The Strokes and Tyler. It was also meant to include international and local bands such as Glass Animals, Denzel Curry, Duke Dumont Live etc.

According to a report by I Lost My Gig, the pandemic has costed Australia’s music industry $340 million. At least 1000 of Australia’s leading artists, music companies and employees wrote an open letter to the Federal Government to “come to our aid”.
