In the past, the American queen Taylor Swift would tactfully choose perfect timing to release a new album. Whether it was deleting all her photos on Instagram and replacing with a series of suggestive images, or doing a countdown to the release of the new album with her Swifties; she always had a way of making the world look forward to it. However, there were no clues about the album nor was there any planned publicity. Taylor Swift announced the news that she released her new album ‘Folklore’ without warning!

It’s been less than a year since her last album ‘Lover’, Taylor surprisingly created 16 new folk-style songs during the isolation. She announced this exciting news in her Instagram post less than 24 hours before the album release.

“Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on the DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore,” said Swift in her Instagram post.

It’s common knowledge that Swift is a master storyteller and creator that is known for her dramatic talent, wandering between fiction and reality. In ‘Folklore’, the popular music genres are not her style, she keeps on an independent folk chic and presents her storytelling skill.

Her deeper mind

Like many of us, the isolation experience allowed her imagination to run wild and focus on the importance of the moment. The album leans towards a pure folk style in a direction, with a melancholy but relaxed atmosphere.

Aaron Dessner, who is credited as a co-producer of ‘Folklore’ also specifically mentioned more about the new album.

“I’ve rarely been so inspired by someone and it’s still hard to believe this even happened – these songs came together in such a challenging time,” said Dessner in a statement.

Taylor cares and warms people’s heart

Taylor Swift did her own glam for her new single ‘Cardigan’ MV, including hair and makeup. She thanked the creative team behind the video and explained it was shot with medical supervision, masks and social distancing, hoping that no Covid-19 case would be linked to her production.

Additionally, Taylor sent out her custom cardigan merch produced in the song ‘Cardigan’ to her friends. Such as Victoria’s Secret Angel Martha Hunt, Suki Waterhouse and Jonathan Van Ness from ‘Queer Eye’. The most heart touching moment is that, among her celebrity friends, she gave Natalie Bryant, the daughter of basketball legend Kobe Bryant a special delivery. Taylor sent her a cardigan and a heart-warming card to her big fan Natalie.

It’s not hard to believe that right after the release of the album, Swifties began going crazy purchasing cardigan merchandise. If you’re wanting to understand why, just wrap yourself in a Swift-approved cardigan and listen to the ‘Cardigan’. Let’s enjoy this comfortable relaxing moment and feel that warm ‘distant’ hug from Taylor Swift.
