Though there doesn’t seem to be a Pitch Perfect 4 anytime soon, The Barden Bellas got back together for charity last week, on August 17.
Stars of the Pitch Perfect franchise virtually reunited for UNICEF. The a cappella-singing group covered Beyoncé’s “Love On Top” to raise funds. Downloads and donations will go towards supporting the COVID-19 Relief. Likewise, it will help children in Beirut following the catastrophic explosion earlier this month.
At this instant, the official music video has already reached over 3.5 million views since its release. Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfield, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, Alexis Knapp, Chrissie Fit, Kelley Jakle and Shelley Regner joined for the cause. Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins, who played hosts in the movie, also got back in character, introducing the group’s virtual performance.
Notably, Banks, who starred in and produced all three Pitch Perfect movies, shared the release on Instagram.
Higgins (in character) says:
“I’m afraid we have some bad news. The Barden Bellas have gotten back together again. It seems that not even a quarantine could prevent them from harassing us with another musical performance.”
The Bella’s rendition of “Love On Top” is truly in Bella-style. With signature beat boxing, musical riffs and perfect harmony, the Bella’s have done it again.
Fans were excited, saying:
The Pitch Perfect Franchise
Sadly, we last saw the cast on our screens for Pitch Perfect 3 in 2017. In fact, Pitch Perfect was initially released in 2012, and because of its popularity, we saw two sequels. After all, who could forget the iconic cup song?
Of course, Wilson has previously teased she wanted to do more:
“There’s many other a cappella teams to battle out there, I personally think, and I love playing my character. She’s such a fun, confident girl and I want to definitely continue to play her more.”
Given the current circumstances, it seems we won’t be getting Pitch Perfect 4 anytime soon. In the meantime, check out the full video below, and donate to UNICEF here.
