Despite COVID-19 restrictions, The Melbourne Fashion Festival (MFF) will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2021 .
Melbourne’s iconic Fashion show is an opportunity for local fashion designers to stage the best of local fashion. According to MFF, “The Melbourne Fashion Festival is an annual celebration of fashion, arts, ideas and creative endeavour for everyone to enjoy.”
As a result of the pandemic, there was a spike in innovation throughout the fashion and creative industries. The festival runs from the 11-20th of March and includes guest speakers, fashion designers and industry experts.
The event features live and digital runways, industry development, styling workshops and several art exhibitions and performances.
In a media release, MFF Acting CEO Yolanda Finch said that the 2021 Melbourne Fashion Festival will be the best one in its 25 year run.
“It will hero the unprecedented coming together of creative, and cultural industries, joining forces to build shared advocacy outcomes for Melbourne on a local and national scale.”
This program will also grant patrons the opportunity to sample some of most finest foods from some of melbournes leading restaurants.
The festival will also involve a three day Fashion summit from the 17th-19th of March. Attendees will be able to join and listen to several voices from Australian media and creative industries.
This summit consists of online discussions that will be centred around the theme of “Where are we now”. It will include a range of discussions about the difficulties of the past year.
Covid Safe Celebrations
The Festival organisers and committee are closely following the Government’s COVID safe plan to keep all patrons safe. They have advised that anyone with the mildest COVID-19 symptoms to not attend.
There are plenty of ways that you can get involved at this year’s festival. Whether it is watching a runway performance, attending a styling workshop or participating in the summit, there is something for everybody.
The 25th year festival celebration will make it the longest running consumer event in Australia.
