Glastonbury Festival has been cancelled for the second time around, however an alternative event has been locked in for this coming weekend.
Organisers have been looking at alternative options for quite some time now, with a five hour online concert set in stone for Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of May 2021.
Live at Worthy Farm will play host to stars such as PJ Harvey, Kae Tempest, Michael Eavis, Jarvis Cocker, George The Poet, George Ezra and Little Amal. It will also feature acts from Coldplay, Damon Albarn and Wolf Alice.
Music lovers have been told that it will be an “epic journey“. But a very different one from the traditional festival format.
Global Livestream
This news comes after organisers submitted an application to Mendip District Council. They requested to hold the two day event on the iconic pyramid stage.
According to NME,
“The application sought permission to stage live music and sell alcohol between 2pm and 11pm at a “single event” across a Friday and Saturday.”
However, the organisers had previously shared a number of ideas and plans. This is the festival’s second cancellation, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tickets for the virtual extravaganza are available now via the priority app, so get in quick!
